John A. Torres enjoyed a highly reputable and distinguished career at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF including a role as Deputy Assistant Director Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information. As the recipient of numerous awards and through his disciplined pursuit of continuing education, he was instrumental in raising the bar of excellence at ATF during his 30-year career. John attained Senior Executive Service (SES) status during his career in the federal government.
He is the former Chairperson of the Federal Executive Board of Los Angeles and past President of the Hispanic American Command Officers Association. John has been an active board member of several non-profits groups such as the Catholic Youth Organization, Aviance’ Charter School in East Los Angeles and the Anti-Defamation League’s Sherwood Committee. In October of 2017 Mr. Torres was recognized by the Santa Clarita Signal Newspaper as one of Santa Clarita’s “Top Level 51” people for his volunteerism.
John earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees, both in Criminal Justice, at California State University, Sacramento.
